I, Suzanne studied Drama at the Waterfront Theatre School, here I apprenticed Tony Fletcher, making Muppets with the acclaimed puppeteer. I went on to apprentice an established Puppeteer Estelle Briar at The Rainbow Puppet Theatre, where I worked for Five years, making puppets and performing fairy Tales with fellow puppeteers.
I was mentored and trained to develop a mobile puppet theatre which became a business offering puppet shows at Parties and events.
I continue to offer professional puppet shows at birthdays, events and school shows but now also train puppeteers, develop new Tales into enchanted puppet shows and am developing my art to become part of children’s theatre as well.
Puppetry includes various art forms such as fine art movement art and the soulful art of eurythmy . It allows the young child to experience and develop imagination, literacy, language skills and is calming and a great deal of fun.
I offer a growing collection of Fairy Tales & African Tales. The Shows are accompanied by sound effects, music, scene changes, lavish back drops and a theatre which opens and closes and is 2,8 meters by 2.8 meters..The characters are often local and a creative warm performing style engages young audiences readily. I develop puppet shows to include themes which are relevant at Preschool and primary school , such as My emtions, Kindness, Africa day etc. I do also make puppets with groups as part of a course in puppetry or simply for an enritching creative experience.
We also offer tailor made nature themed activities at Parties and events.
Scavenger hunts to include answering of riddles, making nature potions, participating in nature challenges ie. find the hidden crystal, excavate your hidden treasure.
